This website, including the articles and guides published in our blog, provides general information about non-destructive testing, inspection and asset integrity. It is not engineering advice, inspection advice, or a substitute for a qualified inspection of your equipment.

Decisions about the inspection, repair, continued operation, derating or retirement of pressure equipment, storage tanks, structures, lifting equipment or any other asset must be based on a competent assessment of that specific asset, carried out by appropriately qualified personnel with access to its design data, service history and current condition. Nothing on this website should be relied on as the basis for such a decision.

Standards and regulatory references

Where this site refers to Australian, ISO, API, ASME or other standards, those references are summaries provided for general orientation. Standards are revised, superseded and withdrawn, and clause numbering and requirements change between editions. Regulatory obligations also differ between states and territories.

You must consult the current published edition of any standard, and the regulator in your jurisdiction, rather than relying on a description of it here. We do not reproduce standards, and a summary on this site does not confer any right to rely on it for compliance purposes.
